OUR COMMITMENT
At WAC Mining Inc., we make it a priority to act as a responsible
mining & exploration company - from our safety practices to our environmental stewardship. We care about our community
and the environment - for ourselves and the people who live and work in our communities. WAC Mining Inc. reaches
out to our neighbours through special programs ranging from infrastructure initiatives, including roads and housing, to local
school improvements, free community medical and dental services and extensive land reclamation programs. We will continue
to act as a responsible company because we believe that we are only as productive and successful as the communities in which
we work.
WAC Mining Inc. is in the process of updating policies in all key areas
of the operation including health, safety, environment and community. The success of these policies will be determined by
indicators based on the three pillars of sustainability - economic achievement, environmental performance and social contribution.
SAFETY & SUSTAINABILITY
At WAC Mining Inc., we are committed to achieving the highest standards
of oil exploration & gold mine safety and health for all our business activities and this is reflected in our Gold Mine
Safety and Health Policy.
We understand that mining is regarded as a hazardous industry and, therefore,
we have established proven formal risk management processes for all of our business activities. These enable us to identify
hazards, assess risk, determine appropriate control measures for those hazards and monitor the effectiveness of those controls
in everything we do.
Gold mine safety procedures and site standards are used at WAC Mining Inc.
to ensure that tasks and work practices are performed in a safe manner with minimal risk. All employees are encouraged to
assist in developing these standards in order to mitigate hazards within their work environments. The safety and health of
all employees and contractors is of the utmost priority to WAC Mining Inc.'s management. Training programs, safe
work procedures, site housekeeping and operational standards are enforced at WAC Mining Inc. to ensure that all
work is undertaken in a safe manner with minimal risk to employees and equipment.
WAC Mining Inc. recognizes that rescues today must be highly organized
efforts carried out by a group of individuals working together as a team. Therefore, WAC Mining Inc. actively trains
and develops emergency response teams at each site, in case of an accident. Team members receive specialized training in advanced
first aid, vehicle rescue, fire fighting, chemical spills and recovery.
At WAC Mining Inc., sustainability means achieving a balance of
economic prosperity, environmental responsibility and community support. The concept of sustainability will be a key driver
of WAC Mining Inc.'s future performance. Our vision is to continue to develop safe, profitable and sustainable mining
operations for the benefit of all our stakeholders.
ENVIRONMENT
WAC Mining Inc. recognizes that mining is a temporary
land use activity and, therefore, incorporates environmental management into all of our business activities. Managing environmental
responsibilities is an integral component in ensuring that the sustainability of our current and future operations is maintained.
Rehabilitation of historic mine sites and the progressive rehabilitation
of our current mining operations is a major part of our environmental focus. WAC Mining Inc. is committed to returning
the land to an overall improved condition after mining has ceased while preserving the heritage value of each site. As part
of this commitment, consultation with community groups is carried out during the development stage of rehabilitation plans
to ensure that the needs of all stakeholders are taken into account.
We understand that education, healthcare, the environments and the arts are
cornerstones to building better communities where people live healthier balanced lives. By creating initiatives and participating
in existing programs, WAC Mining Inc. is open and enthusiastic in funding non-profit organisation and initiatives
in these areas to foster caring and thriving communities.
WAC Mining Inc.'s performance is dependent on the support of local and
regional communities. We could not operate without their support and strive to maintain relationships built on respect and
trust with a large range of local organizations. In turn, the operation contributes to the local economy, uses local goods
